In addition to these programs, the Club also
hosts a Rocky Mountain Division Age Class
Giant Slalom and the J4 Junior Olympic
Qualifier for the Rocky Mountain Division
(the Prater Memorial Ski Race). The Prater
attracts over two hundred athletes ages
eleven and twelve, along with their coaches
and families for four days of activity and
tremendous revenues for the community.
Thanks for visiting our site, and thank you
for helping our program achieve and surpass
the level of success we've enjoyed all these
years. We'll see you on the snow!

The Crested Butte Ski Club is the oldest youth
ski club in Gunnison County, with a record of
success of over twenty-five years and roots to
the Gunnison Ski Club dating back to the
1940's. We are a non-profit organization,
relying heavily on volunteers and aid from the
community in order to carry out our mission,
which is to help kids learn to succeed through
the vehicle of winter sports. We accomplish
this by providing an affordable, high-quality,
comprehensive program designed to help
athletes set and achieve personal goals.
Getting here:
From Gunnison, travel north on Highway 135 through
the town of Crested Butte. Continue along Gothic Rd.
(also called 6th St and Hwy 135) through Mt. Crested
Butte, following signs to skier parking. Our office is
located in the Redstone Building on the Emmons
Loop, which is the building to the right of Crested
Butte Sports. Enter through the left-hand door, and
our office is just to your left!

Programs
Our program is divided into 3 components: a Race
Team for skiers ages 8 and up; Cyclones, a
developmental program for youth ages 5 through
twelve that teaches children the basics of skiing and
racing; and a Christmas Camp designed specifically
for Cyclones. In addition to regular weekend
training, our Cyclones also participate in Little
Giants Fun Races and Parent/Child Races over the
course of the season, and our Race Team travels to
various USSA-sanctioned races throughout the
Rocky Mountain Region.
